We did the math for you. You’re welcome.
More here.

and then you have the leftists doing the “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” in the background

do you really value your $2 above people making a wage that they can support themselves on. really.

Sorry, the heritage foundation is an arm of the anti-women, anti-gay, anti-trans, Koch Brothers who funded the citizens united ruling and are responsible for some of the shittiest things to ever walk the earth.
I trust their math about as far as I can throw the half a billion dollar building that they are housed in.

Here’s a more reliable source on the estimate cost increase as related related to wage increase, at least for McDonalds.
for those uninterested in clicking through, paying McDonald’s workers $15/hour would result in approximately a $0.22 raise in the price of a Big Mac, for about $31,000 a year at full time. That’s roughly double what minimum wage workers in America receive right now.

People who try to justify treating those barely scraping by as it is like shit and keep them in poverty are assholes. There are no excuses.

The funny thing is, I’d heard the $.022 figure before but then I saw the picture and was like “Oh that still doesn’t seem that unreasonable, you can still get a meal for under $10 a person…” it wasn’t until the commentary that I realized these prices were supposed to be scary.
I guess that’s since the people for whom this would most likely impact their daily budgets are the very people the wage increase would directly benefit, and the difference in their paychecks would be more than enough to cover this price increase without negating the benefits?

Hehe equality right?

Do you not understand the purpose of this, or why the prices are what they are? Does this need to be explained to you?

Oh yea right, the famous “wage gap” between men and women that has been debunked tons of times! That sure is the right argument to fight sexism with!

Not debunked, misrepresented, as it is a complicated issue. It’s honestly more accurate to call it a PAY gap than a WAGE gap, since there are a myriad of factors at play here. Women DO, on average, make less money than men. That is indisputable, and the margins widen when you include factors of race, disability, and sexuality.
Here’s a good starter resource on it.
IF you would like some more in depth reading:
This one is from Stanford about the Gender Pay Gap
This is a New York Times article looking at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s report on the topic.
This one is from the International Trade Union Confederation
This one is from Oxford, titled Up the Down Staircase: Women’s Upward Mobility and the Wage Penalty for Occupational Feminization
You can also look at the US Census’s look at the Pay Gap
Or the Institute for Women’s Policy Research
Even the United States Government Accountability Office has some information on it.
So yes, the bake sale above is a pretty simplistic little stunt about a complicated economic and social issue. But the fact that it pisses people off sort of makes its point for it.

Excellent primary sources for those concerned about sex based oppression/ how men continually benefit from female subjugation also I would really like one of those Vegan cupcakes
